Walk your property.
Prove it’s ready.

Device check

Reading your device…

One walk with your iPhone or iPad captures the shutoffs, panels and equipment that decide how a bad day goes, and turns them into a record your broker can put in front of an underwriter.

Your capture path

Two ways to capture

The app checks your hardware and picks the path. Here’s what each one gives you.

iPhone Pro · iPad Pro

3D scan with LiDAR

Room scans become a measured 3D home and floor plan. Pin equipment in 3D where it stands, then share an interactive link.

  • Move slowly and keep walls, corners and doorways in view.
  • Turn the lights on and open interior doors before you start.
  • Mirrors and big windows confuse depth sensors, so sweep past them rather than at them.
  • Big floor? Scan it in zones, then connect them.
  • Check important dimensions against the real space before relying on the drawing.

Photo capture

Guided photos, 60-second videos and notes for every shutoff, panel and asset, with the same checklist and the same reports.

  • You'll see “Photos and assets available” on the home card. That's your capture path.
  • The checklist, shutoffs, panel photos, equipment and reports all work without a scan.
  • Add drawings or a plan you already have, so photos have somewhere to live.

What to test

Try these, and tell us what broke

Names match the buttons in the app. Items marked LiDAR need an iPhone Pro or iPad Pro. Skip them otherwise.

01

Run the quick start

Residential → 1 Start · 2 Scan · 3 Shutoffs & panel

Three steps, start to finish. Tell us where you hesitated.

02LiDAR

Scan your home, room by room

Next room / area → Finish run → 3D home

Walk each room slowly, then check the 3D home and use Connect rooms to stitch the floor together.

03

Find the three main shutoffs

Shutoffs & panel

Main water, gas and power. Photograph each and mark where it is. Locate and document only. Don't operate them.

04

Photograph the panel directory

Shutoffs & panel → Electrical panel

Shoot the printed breaker list. The app proposes a schedule, and you apply or reject it. Was the read right?

05

Add your big equipment

Add asset · Asset library

Water heater, furnace, AC, sump pump. Add a nameplate photo and a 60-second video of anything that looks tired.

06

Share the result

Home report · 3D home & interactive link

Export the PDF home report and send the 3D link to someone you trust. The link can expire and be revoked.

07

Try the emergency guide

Emergency guide

Walk through “Water near electricity” as if it were real. Is it clear enough at 2 a.m.?

Meta glasses · optional

Look at it.
It’s captured.

Pair Ray-Ban Meta or Oakley Meta glasses and capture photos and video with both hands free: on a ladder, behind the water heater, holding the panel door open. Every capture lands on the asset you picked, beside the ones from your phone.

Join the glasses pilot

  1. 1Install the beta from TestFlight, above.
  2. 2Send us the email on your Meta account. Meta enables glasses apps person by person, and it’s often a different email from your Apple ID.
  3. 3Accept the invite at wearables.meta.com/invites, pair the glasses in the Meta AI app, then tap Connect glasses in CriticalAsset.

Opens your email with your device filled in. Add your Meta account email and send.

For insurance brokers

Send one link.
Get back proof.

Your clients already know where things are. They’ve just never written it down. CriticalAsset turns a walk through the property into evidence you can submit: every main shutoff located and photographed, the panel documented, and the equipment on record with nameplates. No site visit, no questionnaire ping-pong.

Water: the main shutoff is found before it's neededLocated, photographed and pinned on the plan, so response starts at the valve instead of a search.
Electrical: the panel is on recordThe breaker directory is photographed and turned into a schedule the client has reviewed.
Equipment: condition you can seeWater heaters, HVAC and pumps with nameplate photos and short videos, not a line on a form.
Space: a 3D look without a tripWith LiDAR, a measured floor plan and an interactive 3D link that expires and can be revoked.

A note to send your clients
I'd like to put stronger evidence behind your renewal. CriticalAsset is an iPhone and iPad app that walks you through your property: main water, gas and power shutoffs, the electrical panel, and your major equipment, with a 3D floor plan if your device has LiDAR. When you're done, send me the report or the share link.

Join the beta: https://testflight.apple.com/join/ZvhDYXWJ

The client decides what leaves the phone. Guest captures stay on the device, and share links can be revoked.

Feedback

Tell us what broke

Found something off? Send a report. It opens your email with your device already filled in, and a few short prompts so we can reproduce it. Attach a screenshot if you have one.

Does it work on Android? Not yet. The beta is iPhone and iPad only.
Do I need Meta glasses? No. They're optional and hands-free. The phone or iPad camera does everything the glasses do.
My device doesn't have LiDAR. Is it worth testing?Yes. Photo capture covers shutoffs, panels, equipment and reports. Only the 3D scan needs LiDAR.
Will the app touch my equipment?Never. It locates and documents. It doesn't operate valves, breakers or anything else.
What happens to my data?As a guest, it stays on your phone. Sign in with email or Google to sync, back up and share.

The next claim goes better when the walk already happened.
